Modern machines in industry do not belong exclusively to any one branch of engineering, as they are interdisciplinary in nature like Mechatronics Engineering which is a combination of mechanical, electronics and communication and computer engineering frequently using embedded systems. Basically, Mechatronics Engineering encompasses the study of mechanics and electronics to provide a comprehensive understanding of engineering. The Faculty of Engineering offers a 2 year Masters degree program in Mechatronics Engineering which explores the concurrent technologies in this field. As a way of ensuring the highest form of quality academics, the program is UGC approved and is centred on providing students with advance understanding of all the significant elements of Mechatronics Engineering. The department is equipped with a number of instructional and research laboratories which provide students with quintessential practical exposure and these include Basic Workshop Lab, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Lab, Automation Lab and CNC machine Lab. With the department’s particular focus in research and innovation, the students are constantly engaged in experiential learning programs, which are designed to enhance the students scope of innovation. Upon completing this program, students will develop the ability to navigate and effectively execute the various industrial roles in Mechatronics Engineering.
