A Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is designed to train and develop professionals in various disciplines so that they can act as resource persons in guiding and motivating young person’s to take up right career.
The FDPs provide inputs on process and practice of various discipline such as development, communication and inter-personal skills, creativity, problem solving, achievement motivation training, inputs on resource and knowledge industries. The training methodology includes case studies, group discussion, games and simulation exercise, field visits and classroom lectures.
Inter-disciplinary Faculty development programme
Inter-disciplinary Faculty development programme on “Quality Enhancement Practices in Academics and Research” was organized by Faculty of Management Studies and Faculty of Social work, Parul University. It was a 10 day FDP organized for faculty members.
Many well-known faculties from Maharaja Sayajirao University like Faculty of Social work, Faculty of Management Studies, and Faculty of Education and Psychology, along with some professionals from Atmiya Institute of Engineering and Technology and few more renowned corporates were invited as resource people for this programme.
Rejuvenating Management educators through innovative Pedagogy & Research Techniques
Power point presentation was used as a tool to deliver the session. In addition some cases and materials were distributed to the participants to help them & to refer it later.
The participants were shown videos which depicted the role of the mentor in grooming the career of individuals. Moreover the videos showed depicted the urge to use innovative methods to grab the attention of the students rather than relying on the traditional methods.
The session comprised of topics ranging from roles and responsibilities of a teacher to the challenges faced and the opportunities for teachers of today’s era. Moreover emphasis was laid upon the innovative pedagogy which can enhance the effectiveness of the lecture.
