The Nation Sees Infinite Dreams Once Again Being Fulfilled As PU hosts its 5th Annual Convocation Ceremony.

Padma Shree Awardee Mr.Kapil Dev, Former Indian Cricket Team Captain who is also credited for having won World Cup in Cricket in 1983 for the first time for India- also known as " Haryana Hurricane" and Ms.Diya Mirza, renowned bollywood actress and former Miss Asia Pacific International and UNEP Goodwill Ambassador attended the 5th Annual Convocation as Guests of Honour along with Dr.Devanshu Patel, President, PU, Dr.M.N.Patel, Provost, PU, Dr.H.S.Vijayakumar, Pro Vice- Chancellor; Prof.Manish Pandya, Registrar, PU, Hon’ble Members of the Board of Management and the Governing Body.  A total of 8,500 students along with their parents were present to witness the conferment of the degrees on their wards.

 

During the 5th Convocation, a total of 5454 graduating candidates from the disciplines of engineering and technology, applied sciences, commerce, arts, fine arts, library science, health administration, public health, vocational studies, pharmacy, physiotherapy, ayurved, homeopathy, nursing, architecture, agriculture, social work, design, law, computer applications, management, business administration were conferred diploma, under graduate, post graduate and doctorate degrees. A total of 61 gold medals along with 33 Certificates of Merit were awarded to the top performers of respective degree programmes in the university. Furthermore, 1 award for start up and also 13 alumni were awarded for their contribution in their illustrious professional careers.

 

 

As a mark of excellence in education, the University on this day honored its top performing students with gold medals in recognition of their academic accomplishments. Beyond their display of excellence in their studies, this student group has also been showcasing their prowess across multiple sectors in the industry, corporate sector and higher education. With students like Yash Arunbhai Dhaduk a research associate with the department of aerospace engineering at IIT Madras, or Suraj Mistry a Business Intelligence Software Developer at Synoptek India along with Vrunda Savaliya a software engineer at Gateway Group, and Sevrina Duatre working with Courtyard, Marriott Hotels. 

 

Some of the University’s gold medalists have established their careers abroad such as Bharat Tyagi, a  Pharmacy Assistant at Walmart Pharmacy, Canada, Deepa Thomas working as biology teacher in the Ministry of Education, United Arab Emirates amongst others. In addition to this, a number of the University's gold medalists have also established their careers in entrepreneurship such as Dr. Ritu Lalwani, who launched her online practice, Serenity Homeopathic Clinic. With these gold medalists on highlight, many other student gold medalists have been pursuing their higher studies in India and abroad, while others have been preparing for careers in civil services amongst other bodies.

Dr.M.N.Patel congratulated all the graduating students and wished them best for their future endeavors and urged them to continue making small efforts everyday to achieve great success

Dia Mirza, in her address, said that apart from Education and Skills,  connection with people matters the most. She said that her connection with people has helped her immensely in her personal and professional life.She urged students to listen to their inner voice which will guide them throughout their life to success and fulfillment  and to always strive to ensure safety and well being of the earth.
 

Shri.Kapil Dev emphasized that all the graduating candidates are fortunate ones as there are many who don't have access to higher education.He stressed that in these challenging and troubled times, we need to rely much on power of love to comfort one another and help.one another. He urged candidates to use the education for the betterment of our country. He congratulated all the stakeholders of the university for bestowing the gift of education on the graduating candidates

The University's President Dr. Devanshu J Patel said that success is not owned. It is rented and the rent is due everyday. There are people who have chosen to create success in their lives. Likes of Kapil Dev and Dia Mirza chose to break out from the shackles of comfort zone.The character of an individual is tested when he is surrounded by darkness and insurmountable challenges. Despite fear of failure, choose to pursue success.One should not accept that our lives will always be trouble free. Instead, we should face challenges with determination
