Students from PU Get an Invitation to Celebrate Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram Foundation Day at Gujarat Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar by the Ministry of Home Affairs

PU has been on the front lines in promoting cultural understanding and fostering positive relations within the diverse communities in our nation. In a remarkable recognition of academic excellence and community engagement, 34 students from the university were invited to the Foundation Day Celebrations at the Gujarat Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar. The esteemed invitation was extended by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The Foundation Day celebration of the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram was conducted at the Gujarat Raj Bhavan on February 20, 2024. The event, which was held in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, served as a lively platform to display the unity and diversity of India's rich heritage.

With a view to building a sense of belonging and community, the Raj Bhavan offered a cordial welcome to Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram inhabitants who are currently residing in Gujarat. Students and artists from PU were invited as special guests, and they were able to demonstrate the university's commitment to fostering creativity and cultural expression through compelling performances. This rare honor showcases the university’s commitment in nurturing a supportive environment that fosters inclusivity and unity. 

          

The students of PU, who hail from the beautiful Eastern states Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram, had the privilege to visit the Raj Bhavan where they participated in various cultural events, discussed the rich cultural tapestry of these states, and interacted with the dignitaries and officials from various government bodies. With PU's unwavering support, the students had the unique opportunity to interact with esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Mulubhai Bera Ji, Minister of Tourism, Cultural Activities, Forest & Environment, and Climate Change, Government of Gujarat, and Shri Balkrishna Shukla Ji, Former Member of Parliament of the 15th Lok Sabha of India. Their insightful words resonated deeply and ignited a spark of ambition and innovation within our young minds.
