With the inauguration of its MICRO-NANO Research & Development Center, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to nanotechnology and advanced materials, the university has taken a significant leap forward in advancing cutting- edge discoveries. Developed with the support of the Industries Commissionerate, Government of Gujarat, under the Gujarat Industrial Policy 2020, the center was inaugurated by Smt. Sunaina Tomar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary for Higher and Technical Education Department, Gujarat, and Chairperson of i-Hub.

Equipped with world-class technology, the MICRO-NANO R&D Center is designed to drive scientific advancements, industry collaborations, and hands-on skill development. The facility houses sophisticated instruments, including a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), X-ray Diffractometer (XRD), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), RF/DC Magnetron system for thin film coating, a Pin-on-Disc Tribometer, an LCR meter, and a CNC Micromachining setup. This groundbreaking facility will foster interdisciplinary research and innovation across industries such as healthcare, aerospace, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing, focusing on the development of stronger, lighter, and more sustainable materials.

The vision of the center is to establish itself as a leading hub for research in nanotechnology and advanced materials, bridging the gap between academia and industry while contributing to India’s technological self-reliance.
