PU has been continuously displaying excellence through the great milestones that have been reached by it's students and members. Recently one of the university's professors from the faculty of Law Prof(Dr) Debarati Halder was a panelist at NGOCSW FORUM 67 of UN Women. The forum was conducted online and it was focusing on Impact of technology on women and girls in the justice system. This forum focused on the theme of the CSW67: Innovation & technological change and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and empowerment for all women and girls
Prof(Dr) Halder is a founder of Gender and internet web magazine for cyber law for women. She has years of experience in cyber crime counselling. The professor presented on patterns of nonconsensual image-based victimisation of women in India, critical analysis. Dr. Sheetal Ranjan, Dr. Marietta Martinovic, Dr. Aunshul Rege, Kay Coghil, Dr. Pilar Rodriguez Martinez, and Dr. Amy Hughes Stanley were also on the panel. The goal of such forums is for dedicated experts to reduce cybervictimization and resolve trauma encountered by the victims (telehealth assistance to survivors). The online channel successfully examined the global connections between technology and VAW, with a focus on women affected by the justice system.
