Contributing to the scope of innovation and intellectual property as PU’s professor clears the Patent Agent Examination 2022

Ensuring quality in research and innovation has been at the cornerstone of every scientific and academic development, in furthering this, PU’s faculties continue making groundbreaking records in IPR. Recently, one of the University’s assistant professors, Dr. Mohsin J. Dadi, successfully cleared the Patent Agent Examination for the year 2022. The examinations were conducted by the Office of the Control General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, Department of Promotion of Industry, Government of India. Dr. Mohsin has qualified to become a Patent Agent approved by the Control General of Patents, Designs, and Trademarks, Indian Patent Office, Government of India.

The professor from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Parul Institute of Technology appeared among the 7718 candidates who sent the applications for the examination. The examinations were conducted in the month of May in five cities including Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Nagpur. Amongst the total number of applicants, a total of 2972 candidates appeared for Paper-I and  2921 appeared for in Paper-II. Furthermore, in June a list of 1334 & 16 eligible candidates for Viva Voce was published. The Viva Voce took place at the Patent Offices located at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and RGNIIPM, Nagpur where 1342 students successfully appeared for the exam.

Dr. Mohsin J. Dadi was amongst the 1026 students who successfully qualified upon the declaration of the final results that were published in August 2022. This great milestone that he has achieved will go a long way in enhancing the scope of innovation and intellectual property rights.” During this journey I have learned many lessons through all the obstacles I faced, i am grateful to all my colleagues and the university for supporting me to achieve this dream” shared Dr. Mohsin.
