Today I would like to share an interesting and mindful piece of thought with all of you.
"Recently I heard a group of teachers discussing - We will soon be replaced by technology , specifically AI."
I started deeply thinking over it and after all the introspection, what i realized and concluded very strongly and i would like to share the same through this article.
With all the disruption and technological revolution, I feel machines will always be able to make and move products, but they will never be able to imagine what products to make, machines might be able to help us make decisions, however they will never to able to tell us where to apply and where not to use those decisions. Machines might be able to capture vast amounts of data and find patterns with it, but they will never tell us what to do with that information. In short - they will help us find answers to questions, but they will never tell us what questions to ask.
Machines will always be WHAT, sometimes a HOW but never a WHY???
I think this answers that discussion - and tells us that the role of the teachers becomes even more crucial today and in the coming days provided, we shift our focus.
- Our classrooms will have to become discussion rooms
- Our teachers will have to become facilitators and mentors
- Our students will have to become collaborative learners.
We will need to focus on 3 major perspectives.
- Instilling curiosity, Inquisitiveness and critical thinking in the children.Development of correct mindset and life skills.
- Ensuring Collaborative learning environments with intellectual engagement from our learners.
- Foster relevance - Connection to real world problems.
It's a challenging but definitely not an impossible task. If we all accept this challenge, I'm sure we will be able to groom and shape individuals and human beings who will leave this planet in a much better position than what it is today..
So dear teachers, in every single session, let's make a point to not leave our students without a question and make them curious…a question which is challenging enough to drift them away from the useless distractions and fruitless scrolling on devices and makes them critically think, research and find solutions.
Lets always be proud and grateful for the opportunity that we have got to shape the world better especially in these challenging times. Once again wishing a very Happy teachers day to all.
