A Team of IAF Recently Visited City Based PU to Interact with Students on Careers in the Armed Forces

“Ready to serve” was the anthem of the budding youth of Vadodara city’s PU after the campus atmosphere was lifted off with an array of inspiration from the Indian Air Force. Earlier in the week an IAF team “Disha '' from Air HeadQuarters visited the University campus for an interaction with the students. The team is responsible for officers' induction and publicity through various avenues, one of which is “one to one interactions in the form of Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle (IPEV) , and for this session they were at PU’s doorstep to motivate the youth towards national service. This event was organized under the University’s “Armed Forces Motivational Cell” which has been dedicated towards helping students who desire to serve in the Indian Army, Indian Navy or Indian Air Forces. It often invites industry experts to motivate students in achieving their armed forces' dreams and this occasion saw the Disha team and IPEV (Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle) visiting the campus. 

The team had left Delhi and covered Jaipur and Ahmedabad cities before reaching Vadodara. At PU the team first interacted with the students and faculty in the University auditorium and explained in detail through a presentation on a career as an officer in IAF. They also conducted a quiz on IAF with on the spot prizes for the students. In addition, the IPEV which is a specialized vehicle that contains a flying simulator, touch screen kiosks, virtual reality equipment, miniature Aircraft models, LED display etc. was opened up for students of the University wherein they had an opportunity to individually operate the simulator and get the virtual feel of flying a fighter aircraft. The team also presented souvenirs to the students.

The President of the university, Dr Devanshu Patel thanked the IAF team for gracing the university campus with their amiable presence. He further added, “The students at the Armed Forces Motivational cell looked forward to this opportunity for a long time and they will cherish this learning experience provided by the IAF  team”.
