Dr. Amit Ganatra has been serving as the Provost of Parul University, Vadodara since August, 2022. Prior to that, he has served as the Dean, Faculty of Technology-CHARUSAT, Gujarat, he has held various academic positions, working as a Professor in Computer Engineering Department, Head, Computer Engineering Department at CSPIT, CHARUSAT, Principal of Devang Patel Institute of Advanced Technology & Research. He has been a member of Board of Studies (BOS), Faculty Board, Academic Council, Research Council and Governing Body for CHARUSAT and member of BOS for CHARUSAT, Gujarat Technological University (GTU), KSV, RRU, NIELIT, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Open University (BAOU), C.U. Shah University, BVM Autonomous Engineering College, Uka Tarsadia University among others. He was the founder head of CE and IT departments of CITC (now CSPIT).

His areas of interest include Database Technologies, Data Warehousing and Data Mining, Data Analytics, Data Science and Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Soft Computing, Object Oriented Concepts, Cloud Computing, System Software, IoT and Software Engineering. He is an active member of IEEE (Sr. Member), ACM and CSI Professional Society Chapters. He has 24+ years of teaching experience at UG level and concurrently 20+ years of teaching and research experience at the PG level. He is having good interests in teaching, research and administration. In addition, he has been involved in various research and consultancy projects for various funding agencies and industries.

He is having good research record, published, and contributed over 164 papers (as an Author and a Co-author) which were/are published in referred journals and presented in various national and international conferences. He has supervised (guided) more than 150+ Industry Projects at graduate level and 100+Dissertations at Post Graduate level. 15 Ph. D Scholars have completed their Ph. D under his supervision and currently he is supervising (guiding) 08 Research Scholars at Ph.D. level.

He has visited so many foreign countries like Malaysia, Ghana-Africa, Thailand, UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, Hong-Kong, Maldives for participate and attend the various international conferences as well as present the research paper. Dr. Amit Ganatra has completed research projects in collaboration with well-known industries and Government Bodies like an IoT Based Novel Approach to Test Quality of Water for Drinking and Irrigation. Grant-in-aid sanctioned by AICTE of INR 796000/- during May, 2019 to July, 2022. The Multi-Centric NTF project entitled “ An implementation research study on developing a high quality patient centric integrated model for emergency care systems in selected districts of India” sanctioned by ICMR on December 19, 2023 for 03 years. Sanction number is No.5/4-5/1/3/Eol- EmergencyCareSystem-Vadodara/2023-NCD-1. The sanctioning amount for this project is Rs.2, 04, 64,207/- (Rupees Two Crore Four Lakh Sixty Four Thousand Two Hundred and Seven only).

Dr. Amit Ganatra has filled and published three patents and the details of these patents are:

• Patent has been filed for “Frame-Bust Problem & Bust-Protective Algorithm” with The Patent Authority of India. (Ref. Number: 2248/RQ-MUM/2009, Application no.: 2057/MUM/2009).
• Patent has been published for “ The System and Apparatus for Cardiosys for Revolutionizing IOMT” Application Number: 202321062410
• Patent has been filed for “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Based Method for Recognizing Abnormal Activity in Vehicle” with The Intellectual Property India in 16th February, 2022. (Ref. Number: 202221008270, Application no.: TEMP/E-1/9347/2022- MUM).

Dr. Amit Ganatra awarded with "ACHIEVERS AWARD" for his great contribution in the field of Academics and Educational Management from Vice-Chancellor of Dharmsinh Desai University on 12 January, 2020.
