Extending its efforts in developing quality education in the State, PU recently joined hands with the State Government, under Vibrant Gujarat for investments in academic infrastructure. As Gujarat and the world awaits one of the most impactful business and economic summits, PU signed an MoU with the Commissionerate of Higher Education, Government of Gujarat, marking an agreement for the development of four infrastructure project which will not only boost the University’s academic capacity but it will also enhance the State’s resources for higher education. To officially mark this trajectory in the University’s progress and the State’s development, the MoU signing ceremony was attended by the University’s President Dr. Devanshu Patel along with the Vice Presidents, Dr. Parul Patel, Dr. Komal Patel and Dr. Geetika Patel along with the Director for Higher Education, Govt of Gujarat, Shri P B Pandya IAS, together with Shri Mukesh Kumar IAS, Principal Secretary, Govt of Gujarat. The signing ceremony was done in the presence of Shri Raj Kumar, Kailashnathan IAS, along with Ministers & Secretaries of Agriculture, Home, Industry and Education and the Commissioner for Higher Education.
Under this MoU, four construction projects will be established at PU’s Vadodara campus and propose to generate employment for over 14,500 people in various stages of development. Some of these projects include the construction of a state of the art library complex with leading amenities, attached to a hi-tech computer systems and technology center. This library is set to be a highly sustainable structure that will allow for effectiveness in research and knowledge gathering. The computer center will feature advanced information technology systems for conducting research in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, internet of things among others and propose employment for an estimated 5,000 people. Additionally, to further enhance internationalization in the State, the University will be constructing a world class international residence facility which will feature the latest amenities and the project proposes to generate employment for 1,500 people. Furthermore, towards enhancing the sporting ecosystem of the State, the University will also be working towards the establishment of a standard sports complex equipped with facilities for outdoor sports and proposes to provide employment for 4000 people.
Gujarat has been a major driver of technology industries and through this MoU with PU, the state will become a leading destination for quality education. Another project to be established under this MoU will be an administrative building that is fully equipped with smart laboratories and smart classrooms, designed to utilize the power of technology towards leading the age of Education 4.0 in the State. “This MoU with the Government of Gujarat is a step towards effective development and progression in our State and it will put PU at the epicenter of this growth particularly in the domain of higher education while also generating significant employment”, shared the University’s President, Dr. Devanshu J Patel.
