The recently announced national rankings by the National Institution Ranking Framework NIRF 2024 by the Ministry of Education have placed PU among the top Universities in the country, topping the list in the categories of academic excellence, pharmaceutical education and innovation. These most awaited rankings in higher education, define the quality framework of Universities and Colleges across the country inline with their academic policies and practices, through an MHRD established methodology. In this year’s rankings, PU brought pride to Gujarat as the only Private University of Gujarat to be ranked among the top 50 Universities of the country for innovation achievements. The University was also declared among the top 150 Universities of India, with its Faculty of Pharmacy taking the 47th rank among all the pharmacy colleges nationwide.

The methodology of NIRF is based on various parameters which include teaching learning and resources, research & professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity. It was on the basis of these parameters, that the University made its entry into the top 150 Universities of the country, and made it among the only 10 Universities of Gujarat and only 7 Private Universities of the State to make it within this list. PU from its NAAC A++ accreditation, and Diamond Rating in QS I-GAUGE Indian University Ratings till date has continued making milestones of quality in education, with this recent NIRF ranking being another addition to these efforts for fostering quality. Additionally, the University’s Faculty of Pharmacy has also made a highly significant leap towards the top of the ranking list, from its 53rd rank in 2023 to its 47th rank in 2024. The University has been reinforcing its pharmaceutical education, creating the most competent atmosphere for excellence in pharmaceutical research and development.

PU has made significant strides in innovation and entrepreneurship, and as a result of this, the University was amongst India’s top Universities, which are dominating the country's entrepreneurship ecosystem. The University was ranked among the top 50 Universities of India for its innovation efforts, initiatives and policies and it became the only Private University of Gujarat to make it to the top of the NIRF list of Universities with the best Innovations. With entrepreneurship grants from prominent organizations being a norm to the University, its budding entrepreneurs and innovators have been coming up with various innovative Start-ups and which have been providing key solutions in the business sector.
