How to Start a Design Studio: Krish Sompura’s Path From a First-Semester Patent at Parul University
Krish Sompura filed a patent in his first semester, built a portfolio through a campus internship, learned the technical grind of practice at Usine Studio, and then took the biggest risk of all, founding his own firm, which had delivered seven projects before it was even formally registered. Parul University congratulates Ms. Palak Patel and Dr. Shruti Tiwari on their research publication, “Zero Waste Design for Kaftans: Enhancing Wearability and Cultural Preservation,” published in Textile: Cloth and Culture.

From a Final Year Project to Cannes: Rohan Rajput’s Film Makes Its Mark Internationally
Rohan Rajput, a Faculty of Design student, has received official accreditation for his film The Fire Kept Its Promise at the Festival de Cannes 2026. The film is featured in the Short Film Corner at the Marché du Film, bringing his classroom project to an international platform.
Set in a rural context, the film explores caste, patriarchy and societal taboos through stories shaped by silence and the emergence of resistance. What began as a final year project now marks a meaningful milestone for Rohan and his creative voice.

Shankar Goud Wins 2nd Prize at IDSFFK 2025 for His Documentary “Negative Remorse”
Shankar Goud, a student of the Faculty of Design, has secured the 2nd Prize at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala 2025 for his 50 minute documentary Negative Remorse.
Created during his B.Sc. Film & TV Production course, the documentary was recognised as the 2nd Best Documentary in the Long Form category, with a soundtrack by Mudra Patel and editing by Shivam Joshi.

Yes. PID is a NAAC A++ accredited design school at Parul University in Vadodara, Gujarat, offering B.Des, B.Sc, Diploma and M.Des programmes with studio-led teaching, live industry projects and strong placements – 365+ students were placed or professionally engaged in 2025.
PID offers a 4-year B.Des (Communication, Product, Fashion, Interior, UX & Interaction Design, Film, Animation & VFX), a 3-year Diploma in Design, a postgraduate M.Des, and a 5-day Summer D’School for students in Grades 8–12.
PID is on the Parul University campus at P.O. Limda, Ta. Waghodia, Vadodara 391760, Gujarat, India.
Admission to the design programmes is through PU-DAT (Parul University Design Aptitude Test) followed by a portfolio review. Applications for the 2026 cohort are open and can be submitted online via the Admission & Aid page.
PU-DAT is PID’s online design aptitude test that assesses visual sensitivity, creative thinking and reasoning. No prior design experience or drawing background is required – the Year 1 foundation builds those skills from scratch.
