Parul University Hosts Expert Talk with Eminent Voices of the Bar Council of Gujarat

Vadodara-based Parul University hosted an Expert Talk Series that brought together eminent leaders from the Bar Council of Gujarat who shared their knowledge with the youngsters who aspire to become legal professionals. The interactive sessions also offered law students with great knowledge relating to the roles and duties of the advocates and the judiciary in establishing a good and ethical legal system.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. J.J. Patel, Chairman, Bar Council of Gujarat, who addressed the gathering on “Balancing the Scales: An Advocate’s Role in Serving the Court, Protecting the Clients and Respecting Fellow Advocates.” His address emphasised the importance of integrity, dignity, and professional ethics in the legal profession.

A powerful session on the topic “Role of Judiciary: Guardian of Justice and Rights” was provided by Mr. Mukesh Kamdar, Vice Chairman, Bar Council of Gujarat. He emphasised the role played by the judiciary in creating a fair ground to hear the Constitution and its principles by everyone. Adding to the discourse, Mr. Nalin D. Patel, Chairman, Executive Committee, Bar Council of Gujarat, spoke on “Roles and Responsibilities of State Bar Council and Bar Council of India.” His session provided the students with a clear look into the institutional mechanism that surrounds the legal practice in the state and the nation as a whole.

The program was organized under the visionary leadership of Dr. Devanshu Patel, President, Parul University, and Dr. Parul Patel, Vice President, Parul University, with academic guidance from Dr.Babita Chaube [ Campus Director] , Dr. R.I. Parikh, Dean of Parul Institute of Law, Dr. Ketan Desai, Principal, and Dr. Rajesh Singh, Associate Professor and Convenor of the event, along with support from Mr. Shubhank Khare, Legal Manager, Parul Institute of Law. Reflecting on the initiative, Dr. Devanshu Patel remarked, “Students should have an opportunity to speak with those leaders of the Bar Council, interacting with them one-on-one, the students learn invaluable academic skills, but also internalise the professional values of ethics, justice, and professional responsibility. This is the lesson they will carry into their respective careers as advocates too.”

The event came to an end with an interactive session where students actively engaged with the speakers, expressing gratitude for the practical knowledge and guidance imparted. Through this initiative, the Parul Institute of Law demonstrated its commitment to not only educating the future advocates by equipping them with solid legal knowledge but also by educating them in the sense of ethics.
