AI, IBC, and Arbitration Delays: Insights From The Law Conclave 2025

We are still reeling from the amazing energy and wisdom exchanged during Law Conclave 2025. As the Faculty of Law at Parul University, it was not only an act to unite legal minds but also to form a platform for exchanging challenging dialogues.

The law conference aimed to encapsulate honest discussions about real challenges; Hon'ble Justice R. Mahadevan and Hon’ble Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, Sitting Judges from the Supreme Court as our Chief Guests, and Senior Advocate Pradeep Rai and Hon’ble Mr. Justice C. Hari Shankar, Judge, Delhi High Court, as the Guests of Honor, sharing their wisdom, we got exactly that.

Three Critical Conversations

The heart of our conclave centered on three-panel discussions that we felt captured the most pressing issues in legal practice today.

AI and the Future of Legal Practice: Our first panel brought together some brilliant minds from Fox Mandal, JSA, Dua Associates, and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas. What fascinated us was how these experts weren't talking about AI as some distant concept; they were sharing real examples of transformation happening right now. The discussion naturally flowed into startup ecosystems and regulatory frameworks, showing the complexities of these interconnected challenges.

Insolvency and Bankruptcy Laws in Focus: The second panel tackled the elephant in the room, everyone knows the IBC needs refinement. Our panelists from firms like Dua Associates and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas were refreshingly honest about procedural inefficiencies and judicial interpretation challenges. What we appreciated most was their solution-oriented approach rather than just highlighting problems.

Addressing Arbitration Delays: The third panel hit close to home for anyone dealing with commercial disputes. Experts from Trinity Chambers, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and Khaitan & Co. didn't just share case studies; they brought concrete ideas for institutional arbitration, judicial intervention, enforcement, and practical solutions for time-bound redressal.

A concluding Valedictory ceremony was conducted during which Honorable Mr. Justice N.Kotiswar Singh, Judge, Supreme Court of India, and Honorable Mr. Justice C. Hari Shankar, Judge, Delhi High Court, were present. The valedictory speeches shared were a meaningful piece of knowledge that chimed with the vision and values of the legal brotherhood.

What gave still more solemnity to the moment were our Special Guests from the Supreme Court of India: Senior Advocate K. N. Balgopal, Advocate General of Nagaland, Senior Advocate Mahalakshmi Pavani, and Senior Advocate S. B. Upadhyay.
