About M.Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing

With the increasing awareness on mental health awareness, the demand for trained professionals helping people to recover has also increased. Parul University offers a 2 year post graduate program in Psychiatric Nursing, which is a specialized field to treat individuals with mental health disorders and improve their quality of life. The department's unique pedagogy integrates life sciences with heath science by educating students in the areas of clinical speciality, psychiatric nursing, nursing management, advanced nursing practice, etc. Through an intesive training period in Parul University's 750 bedded multi speciality teaching hospital - Parul Sevashram Hospital, the students are guided on assessing and evaluating a patient's mental health, developing a treatment care plan, consulting with other healthcare professionals, maintaing medical records and lending support and educating the patients and their families. Additionally, the Faculty of Nursing focuses on shaping the practical abilities of the students through a comprehensive curriculum which focuses on both theoretical aspects and the technical fundamentals of medicine. But not only does the course centre on these skills, one of the most significant areas of focus is the development of interpersonal skills which are required for ensuring a harmonious understanding between the nurses and the patients. All this prepares our students to work as registered nurses across leading hospitals and medical centres.
