About M.Sc. in Microbiology

With the growing scope of technology in the field of biology, microbiological deals with biological investigations on a micro-level. The department of microbiology under that Faculty of Applied Science offers a two-year Masters degree program in the field of Microbiology which seeks to develop within the student an understanding of the contemporary elements within the field. The program is research-based and is offered under the University’s Faculty of Applied Sciences. As a way of developing the students’ practical understanding, the provides exposure to various research-based activities. To facilitate the numerous projects of each student, the faculty is equipped with state of the art facilities for research and experimentation. The program focuses on the understanding of microbes such as bacteria, fungi, viruses, algae, immunology etc. This discipline is an interrelated study of other related disciplines such as biochemistry, physiology, cell biology, ecology, evolution and clinical aspects of microorganisms and develops within the students an understanding of host response to these agents. Our expert teaching faculties, not only prepare our students to analyse the past and present discoveries but also train them to embark on pioneering new innovations. As a way of preparing the students for their endless career prospects, the department goes on to provide the students with exclusive training into the know-how of the various industrial processes.
