The Faculty of Applied Sciences offers a two year Master of Science in Earth Sciences which endevours to provide the students with a unique and comprehensive understanding into the scope of the components and elements which make up the earth from the crust to the mentor. The knowledge of the earth is of great importance for the extraction of minerals and excavation of resources, along with the preservation and conservation of the earth's resources. This post graduate program is a research based program which seeks to ensure the acquisition, processing, transformation, analysis, modelling, storage and presentation of spatial data in relation to earth sciences. Students who get to pursue this program are involved in exploration, surveying and production, both indoors (laboratories and offices) and outdoors (on land or at sea) of the various elements which make up the earth's resources. With the various climate impacts as well as development oriented impacts of practises related to the earth and environments, the earth science experts get to play a fundamental role in innovating and developing solutions which get to reduce the various levels of degradation when it comes to the earth as well as to avoid various adverse impacts and adverse effects such as corrosion. As a way of providing students with the most enriching practical exposure, the faculty has been equipped with the most state of the art facilities of research and experimentation which allow students to develop the much needed skills required to fully engage within the industry.
