About M.Sc. Forensic Science


The Faculty of Applied Sciences offers a two-year post-graduate degree program in Forensic Sciences which focuses on imparting within the students an in-depth understanding of the investigative aspects of forensic science. The growing technologies have enhanced the scope and rate of crimes, thus resulting in high demand for experts who are coming in conducting scientific investigations on such crime scenes. To provide students with the much needed practical hands-on training, the Faculty is equipped with state of the art facilities for research and laboratory experimentation. The department of forensic also works in collaboration with the Faculty of Law to develop a comprehensive understanding of the legal frameworks which operates in line with the scope of forensic science. The study of forensic science is interdisciplinary in nature, it correlates with other core science subjects such as chemistry, biology, physics and genetics. The program is conducted under the instruction of expert faculties and professors with unique field expertise who go to shape and train the students in line with all the requirements of the course. The curriculum imparts within the students advanced techniques in collecting, preserving and analyzing the various forms of evidence. The students who get to pursue this postgraduate degree program will get to develop an ability to navigate the scope of forensic science and work in the field.

National Conference on role of Forensic Science in Crime Investigation and Administration of Justice

Parul Institute of Law and Department of Forensic Science, Parul Institute of Applied Sciences had organized a National Conference on Role of Forensic Science in Crime Investigation and Administration of Justice on 27th July, 2019. Oral and Poster presentation activity was organized for the students and faculties who were from various states of India and Nepal.

National Seminar on 'Recent Trends in Research and Development' was successfully organized by Faculty of Applied Sciences, Parul University in collaboration with the Microbiology Society of India wherein reputed subject experts Dr. Deshmukh, Dr. Wakte and Dr. Awasthi delivered keynote addresses.

Parul University's annual festival is a celebration of cultural diversity and features a platform for students' creative expression. For Applied Science students the platform developed and shaped their interpersonal skills and personal confidence to match the needs of the industry and enhance their employability.

Science Vibe – 2019

The faculty of Applied Science celebrated National Science Day on 15th March, 2019 by organizing Science Vibe event. The event covered various competitions like Working Model Presentation, Poster Presentation, Scientific spot photography, Quiz, Science Game, etc. There were 468 participants from various branches of Parul University.
