About M.Sc Cyber Security & Forensics

The Faculty of IT and Computer Science offers a 2 year postgraduate program, Master of Science in Cyber Security and Forensics which seeks to produce experts who are trained in this intimidating field of technology. An advanced combination of legal sciences and network protection is what gave birth to the specialized field of Cyber Security and Forensics. The program is strategically designed to introduce students to security principles and practices, major threats that are on the web, and the importance and role of the operating system. Students will be able to understand, design, operate, install and solutions for the vulnerabilities of the net. As a way of providing the students with an enriching research exposure to the study of Cyber Security, the faculty is equipped with state of the art computer laboratories and innovation facilities which allow students to develop a hands on training experience. The Faculty is equipped with top notch lecturers and experts who go on to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the academic and industrial aspects of cyber security.

Thus with such an exposure it has become of great importance to ensure that the protection and securing of the individual's privacy, and data encryption. Cyber security allows students to have a mastery of the hands on experience which is required for students to provide security solutions in the cyber spaces. Due to an increasing demand in the skills, the program offers career opportunities in various streams such as:

Security Expert

An ability to make use of technology to develop effective security systems which can provide effective data & information safety

Penetration Tester

An ability to provide ethical hacking solutions so as to test the integrity and security levels of various systems

Forensic Expert

An ability to investigate data breaches and recover any pertinent data from electronic storage devices which can be used for examination.

Incident Manager

An ability to look into various incidences so as to explain their occurrence and provide effective strategies for aversion

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate shall have cleared his graduation with Mathematics or Business Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects, if not then in 12th or 10th from a recognized university with 50% for open and 45% for reserved category
