About MD Ayurved (Kriya Sharir)

Kriya Sharir, a foundational element of ayurvedic education, explores the physiological principles and mechanisms described in ancient Ayurvedic texts. Within the Faculty of Ayurved, a comprehensive three-year MD Degree program in Kriya Sharir is offered, aimed at providing students with a deep understanding of the human body’s functioning according to ayurvedic principles. Through rigorous study and analysis, students develop a nuanced comprehension of essential physiological processes, including digestion, metabolism, circulation and excretion as well as the interconnectedness of the mind,body and spirit. The curriculum blends together traditional teachings with modern insights, fostering critical thinking and scholarly inquiry among students. Sanskrit, the divine language of Ayurveda, is taught to students to enable them to grasp the essence of the ancient texts. The department actively engages in research endeavors, publishing scholarly articles and contributing to the preservation and dissemination of Ayurvedic knowledge related to Kriya Sharir. In addition to classroom instruction, the program integrates experiential learning opportunities such as laboratory demonstration, research projects, and scholarly seminars. These hands-on experiences enable students to deepen their understanding and refine their skills in ayurvedic principles and practices related to physiological functions.
