About MD Ayurved (Ayurveda Samhita & Siddhant)

Ayurveda Samhita & Siddhant, an essential aspect of Ayurvedic education, explores the foundational principles and ancient texts of Ayurveda, guiding students towards a profound understanding of its theoretical framework. The Faculty of Ayurveda offers a three year MD Degree program in Ayurveda Samhita & Siddhant, aiming to equip students with deep comprehension of Ayurvedic scriptures and philosophies. This program meticulously delves into classical ayurvedic texts like Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and Ashtanga Hridaya, unraveling the timeless wisdom contained within. Through rigorous study and analysis, students cultivate a nuanced understanding of Ayurvedic concepts, including doshas (biological energies), dhatus (tissues), and malas (waste products), as well as the principles of diagnosis and treatment.The curriculum blends traditional teaching with contemporary insights, fostering critical thinking and scholarly inquiry among students. Samhitas are in sanskrit language which is a divine language, hence to understand the samhita in their true sense sanskrit is taught by the department. The department actively engages in research endeavors and publishing scholarly articles and contributing to the preservation and dissemination of Ayurvedic knowledge. In addition to classroom instruction the program integrates experiential learning opportunities, such as practical demonstrations, research projects, and scholarly seminars, enabling students to deepen their understanding and refine their skills in Ayurvedic principles and practices.
