The rapid urbanisation in cities and the drastic change in urban areas is posing severe challenges for exisiting and future designs. Generally, the urban designs are varigated in both scale and type, which calls for an added emphasis on their usefulness, livability and sustainability of any upcoming design inspirations. Urban Design is a specialized progam which is focused on bringing solutions to these shortcomings. It occupies a position of great importance in any society, and this importance has been growing even more as a result of the rising catastrophies and disasters which have been affecting cities and communities around the world.To meet these concerns the Faculty of Architecture and Planning's masters in urban planning program seeks to impart within the students effective skills which go on ensure their effectiveness in this field. This post graduation is a two year program which seeks to provide a specicialised training through research and experimentation design to develop within the students a comprehensive understanding of this area of study. The Faculty of Architecture and Planning is equipped with state of art infrastructure for research and experimentation which seeks to provide students with the much needed practical exposure in this field, thus placing them a step ahead in their career. The program is taken under the instruction of highly trained professional faculties who get to provide students with the most contemporary practices in regard to this area of study.

Global Grand Challenges Summit-2019

Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Parul University organized the Global Grand Challenges Summit (GGCS) event from 16-18 September 2019 centred on the United Nations Sustainable Goals. The conference featured talks from reputed speakers in the various technical and non technical streams, with a focus on promoting sustainability.


In collaboration with Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WuST), the Faculty of Engineering jointly organised the 1st International Conference on Smart Engineering. A total of 40 out of 100 papers were presented on the broad themes of Thermal Engineering, Production Engineering, Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy and Environment and others for Mechanical Engineering Track 'Smart Engineering'.


The 2nd International Conference, Parul University International Conference on Engineering & Technology: Smart Engineering was Jointly organized by Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Parul University, India and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Wroclaw, Poland. The mechanism of civil and mechanical Engineering and Allied Engineering was covered under the theme of 'Smart Innovations' in PiCET'19. First session on day one was on theme: 'Next-Generation Manufacturing'

Climate Change Impact On Water Resource System

A two day national level seminar was organized in November 2013 to enlighten the issue of 'Climate Change' to understand and deal with climatic changes and their impacts on water resource system. The event was sponsored by AICTE & GUJCOST , DST and supported by COE TEQIP II of SVNIT, Surat to discuss in detail such significant themes as Agriculture, Climate change ,Drought ,Flood ,Hydel power ,River flow ,Water shed ,Water use ,etc.

Industrial Visit to Ready Mix Concrete Plant

An industrial visit for faculty members of Parul University has been organized by the university at Ready Mix Concrete plant, Surat to enhance their skills and to understand the fundamental concepts of manufacturing of cement-concrete. It covered fundamentals of Ready mix concrete production, import and export of concrete, handling of cement for adequate strength and durability aspect.

Waste Water Treatment Technique

An expert lecture was organized for the students of 6th Sem. The guest speaker was Dr. U. D. Patel, Professor at Faculty of Tech. & Engg., M.S.University, Vadodara. He enlightened the students with his experience and knowledge in the field of Water and Waste Water Treatment and Management. The session focused on necessity of decentralized waste water treatment was explained. A new innovative technology named Vermifiltration was discussed for sewage treatment as a low cost treatment option.
