About Environmental Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering, offers a two year Bachelors of Technology in Environmental Science which provides the students with an indepth understanding into the contemporary needs of the global environment. A drastic increase in environmental pollution across the globe has led to various research and development works in an effort to contain this menace and a relatively new discipline called environmental engineering has emerged which is providing excellent career opportunities. This discipline has arisen as a matter of significance and importance and it seeks to develop within the students a unique expertise in the various matters and concerns affecting the scope of the environment. Pursing this program will provide students with the much needed expertise required to tackle challenges such as the rising sea levels, climate change, global warming, ozone depletion and melting glaciers, amongst other environmental concnerns. The program seeks to impart within the students an indepth understanding into the various areas such as water resource managment, waste management, construction, environmental biology and water treatment, amongst others. The program is taken under the instruction of highly trained and skilled faculties who go on to ensure that the students get to have a lasting industrial exposure. The Faculty provides for the students a unique blend of Industrial training which allows them to make effective contributions to the scope this field.

Global Grand Challenges Summit-2019

Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Parul University organized the Global Grand Challenges Summit (GGCS) event from 16-18 September 2019 on the UN Sustainable Goals. The students got the opportunity to work and research on areas related to the understanding of solution required for the betterment of humanity.


The 2nd International Conference- Parul University International Conference on Engineering & Technology: Smart Engineering was jointly organized by Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Parul University, India and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Wroclaw, Poland. Mechanical Engineering and Allied Engineering had been covered under the theme of "Smart Innovations" in PiCET'19. The first session on day one was on theme: 'Next-Generation Manufacturing'.

Climate Change Impact On Water Resource System

A two day national level seminar was organized in November 2013 to enlighten the issue of 'Climate Change' to understand and deal with climatic changes and their impacts on water resource system. The event was sponsored by AICTE & GUJCOST , DST and supported by COE TEQIP II of SVNIT, Surat to discuss in detail such significant themes as Agriculture, Climate change ,Drought ,Flood ,Hydel power ,River flow ,Water shed ,Water use ,etc.

Industrial Visit to Ready Mix Concrete Plant

An industrial visit for faculty members of Parul University has been organized by the university at Ready Mix Concrete plant, Surat to enhance their skills and to understand the fundamental concepts of manufacturing of cement-concrete. It covered fundamentals of Ready mix concrete production, import and export of concrete, handling of cement for adequate strength and durability aspect.

Waste Water Treatment Technique

An expert lecture was organized for the students of 6th Sem. The guest speaker was Dr. U. D. Patel, Professor at Faculty of Tech. & Engg., M.S.University, Vadodara. He enlightened the students with his experience and knowledge in the field of Water and Waste Water Treatment and Management. The session focused on necessity of decentralized waste water treatment was explained. A new innovative technology named Vermifiltration was discussed for sewage treatment as a low cost treatment option.
