About Computer Science with High Performance Computing

Computing power has been the major driving force behind many of the modern day technologies and innovations which have been shaping the scope of innovations and developments across multiple sectors of the economy. To provide the experts who are trained in the operation of such computing power, the Faculty of Engineering's department of Computer Science Engineering offers a four year specialisation in High Performance Computing. The curriculum of this program has been designed in such a way which provides the students with an indepth understanding into the numerous aspects of advanced and high-end computing. High perfomance computing refers to the ability of the computers to process high strands of data and information and perform complex calculations at high speeds. As a way of providing the students, with the most effective practical training, the faculty is equipped with State of the Art computer laboratories and innovation facilities which allow students to gain a hands on training experience. The Faculty of Engineering, owing to its excellence in innovations has been selected amongst the Universities across the State for the Government sponsored Super Computer Facility.  The program exposes students to HPC systems, such as Cilk Plus or OpenMP on shared memory nodes, CUDA for graphics co-processors (GPUs), and MPI and PGAS models. The students get to learn under the guidance of top notch faculties and experts who shape the students' path towards their career opportunities.

Hackathon : Crime & Security 2019

Making use of Student Innovation to Combat Cyber Crime: With crimes taking different shapes and forms every passing moment, as a result of the ever advancing technology, the Vadodara City Police, in association with Parul University, took the initiative of organising a two day Hackathon on the subject of Cyber and Security. A group of 30 teams and 100 students took part in this 30 hour Hackathon, which was commenced on the 12th and was concluded on the 13th of September.

Microsoft .Net Technology

The department of Computer Science Application, organized a 10-day workshop on .NET technology. It was very significant in developing the students' basics from the experts regarding the vital elements of Microsoft technology. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Marmik Brahmbhatt, who is a Microsoft certified trainer and expert in .NET development.


Computer Science and Engineering had conducted an arrangement of one-day training program on 'Space Applications and Geo-Information' at Bhaskaracharya Institute For Space Applications And Geo-Informatics Centre, Gandhinagar.

Infosys visit

An industrial visit to Infosys, Pune was arranged by the Computer Engineering department to provide practical exposure to the students. The industrial visit was also aimed at strengthening the industry-academia ties. The industry academic exchange helped the institute and students to understand the demands of the industry. They also underwent a program called Spark during their visit to the Infosys campus.
