About B.Sc. IT - Bioinformatics

The word 'Bioinformatics' has become a buzzword in the recent times. Earlier people considered biology and computer as two entities which stood poles apart. However lately, the fusion of these two subjects has given birth to the miraculous field of Bioinformatics. It can be defined as a combination of computer science, engineering and mathematics to understand biological information in a better way. The field of bioinformatics has solved numerous challenges and has made crucial researches turn successful in no time. Parul University's three year B.Sc program in Bioinformatics exposes students to the inter-relationship between Bio-technology and Computer Science. The Faculty of IT believes in imparting within each and every student the much needed practical learning which will allow every student to gain the most effective hands on training throughout the entire course of their program. As a way of preparing students for their practise, the program is designed in such a way which provides students with the most enriching hands-on training to enable them to work in all sectors of pharmaceutical and biomedical organisations as well as biotechnology and research institutions. In pursuing this program, the students will be guided by some of the leading experts in the field who get to prepare them with the essential skills to navigate the scope of the industry.
