About B.Sc. in Molecular and Cell Biology

Molecular and Cell Biology is a field which focuses on the molecular aspects of the various cellular structures and processes. The responsibilty of a molecular and cell biologist ranges from finding cures for diseases to developing therapeutic drugs and working on stem cell research among the various other laboratory studies. The Faculty of Applied Science offers a three year undergraduate program in molecular and cell biology which seeks to impart within the students an understanding of the interactions between the cells and tissues and also cell behaviour. The program imparts a comprehensive knowledge of cloning, gene expression, cell growth and development. As a way of developing the practical skills of the students, the faculty is equipped with state of the art facilities and laboratories for research in the various streams of the study, which enables students to investigate many questions central to modern biology and medicine. The department's expert teaching faculties, not only prepare our students to analyse the past and present discoveries, but also train them to embark on pioneering new innovations. The department  uniquely focuses in the shaping and developing of the students’ industrial skillsets and also prepares them to navigate the career landscape competencies.
