About B.Sc (Honors) Forensic Science


The advancing scope of technology and innovation has brought about a shift in the commission of crime and offences, thus resulting in high demand for forensic science experts. The Faculty of Applied Sciences runs a unique four years honors Forensic Science program, which involves core science subjects such as chemistry, biology, physics and genetics. The program deals with scientific investigations in specific crime scene-related cases and various forms of evidentiary elements. The department is equipped with expert lecturers and resource persons who guide the students in the various aspects of research and experimentation. The continuous efforts of the department are towards providing students with an interdisciplinary understanding of forensic science by jointly organising curricular activities with the faculty of law. The curriculum imparts within the students advanced techniques in collecting, preserving and analyzing the various forms of evidence. Pursuing this program will get the students acquainted with both the academic and industrial settings. The program is also designed to develop within the students effective career competencies in the various sectors of the industry, to enhance their employability.
