About B.Sc (Honors) Food Technology


With the continuous and rapid expansion of the food industry along with inclusion of elements such as genetically modified food and the need to maintain the nutritional welfare of the society, food technology has been playing a prominent role in maintaining this balance. Parul University’s Faculty of Applied Science, offers a four year honors program in Food Technology highly specialised undergraduate program that provides students with an in-depth understanding with the best practical learning experience in this field. The program focuses on bettering the food industry through enhanced safety, giving birth to new processing techniques and imparting nutritional advantages.  The department is equipped with state of the art technologies which serve the purpose of shaping and developing the practical skills of the students and also broaden the scope of their academics through new forms of technological innovations. The Faculty is equipped with an elite league of faculties and resource persons who effectively work towards shaping and nurturing the students in line. The food industry is global and is growing at an escalating rate, due to which new technologies are being born every moment. Due to the University’s strong industrial ties, the students are career equipped with skills such as food inspection, quality assurance, product development and food regulation. The students of Food Technology graduate with a vision to be in the service of the nation by assuring availability, profusion, cost effectiveness, wholesomeness and security of food.
