About B.Sc. Food Technology

With the continuous and rapid expansion of the food industry, along with inclusion of elements such as genetically modified food, and the need to maintain the nutritional welfare of the society, food technology has been playing a prominent role in maintaining this balance. Parul University’s Faculty of Applied Science, offers a three year Bachelors program in Food Technology which focuses on bettering the food industry through enhanced safety, giving birth to new processing techniques and imparting nutritional advantages. The department is equipped with state of the art technologies which serve the purpose of shaping and developing the practical skills of the students and also broaden the scope of their academics through new forms of technological innovations. The Faculty is equipped with an elite league of faculties and resource persons who effectively work towards shaping and nurturing the students in line. The food industry is global and is growing at an escalating rate, due to which new technologies are being born every moment. Due to the University’s strong industrial ties, the students are career equipped with skills such as food inspection, quality assurance, product development and food regulation. World Food Day is celebrated annually on 16 October across the globe to honor the establishment of the Food and Agriculture Organization. The theme of World Food Day 2019 was 'Our Actions Are Our Future. Healthy Diets for a #ZeroHunger World'. This focused on handling the global hunger.

Parul University's annual festival is a celebration of cultural diversity and features a platform for students' creative expression. For Applied Science students the platform developed and shaped their interpersonal skills and personal confidence to match the needs of the industry and enhance their employability.

Science Vibe – 2019

The faculty of Applied Science celebrated National Science Day on 15th March, 2019 by organizing Science Vibe event. The event covered various competitions like Working Model Presentation, Poster Presentation, Scientific spot photography, Quiz, Science Game, etc. There were 468 participants from various branches of Parul University.
