About Bachelors of Social Work


With social organisations playing a role of great significance in the socio-economic and political landscape of the nations in the world at large, a bachelor's degree in social work plays a prominent role in developing skilled experts who are able to navigate this role. Parul University offers a three-year bachelor's degree in social work which is designed to equip students with the relevant skills and necessary abilities which allows them to be effective personnel with an apt understanding of the society and the elements of humanity. The program is designed to develop within the students an understanding of the various social institutions which make up the core of various societies, states and countries. The program goes on to exclusively expose students to the various social problems which affect the livelihood and the welfare of the people on various levels and to prescribe relevant solutions to these problems. The faculty of social work has strategically designed its curriculum to develop within the students a practical hands on training which allows them to effectively navigate the field works in various social and cultural landscapes. The program provides students an exposure to subjects such as family and household marriage in social situations, political systems and legal systems amongst others. The students go on to receive guidance from various social work experts who go on to nurture their understanding of the society and shape their perspective in regards to humanity. Beyond the scope of social work the program goes on to develop within the students various interpersonal skills and soft skills which play a vital role in the preparation of their future careers in social work.

Seminar on Corporate Governance and Sustainable CSR Practices

With the aim of understanding the importance of Corporate Governance and CSR practices, Faculty of Social Work, Parul University had organized One day seminar on “Corporate Governance and Sustainable CSR practices” on 20th August 2019. Ms. Jalpa Pancholi, Assistant Manager- CSR, from Gujarat State Fertilizer and Chemicals Ltd. (GSFC), India and Mr. Sanjiv Trivedi, Head- CSR from Larsen and Turbro Ltd. (L&T) have imparted in depth knowledge (theoretical and practical) on the mentioned theme of the seminar. The seminar was attended by 95 students and faculty members of Faculty of Social Work.

Seminar on Professional skill and field education

A seminar was organized for the student of BSW, MSW and MSW (HRM) on 17th September 2016 and the topics was on Emotional Stability and Anger Management, Managerial Effectiveness, Research Report Writing, and Corporate Social Responsibility. It was organized by faculty of social worker, Parul University. The objective of the programme was to make students understand Anger Controlling, Manage Resources effectively, Improve Research Report Writing and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Study Tour to Goa

The study tour Goa was organized with a view to engage the students in experiential learning and add value to their education. 24 students along with the two faculty coordinators visited below mentioned organizations and had full of enriched knowledge enhancing sessions with the officials. Goa Cattle Feed Plant and Goa Dairy, Human Touch Foundation, Zindgi-Goa (NGO), Kripa Foundation, TISA [The India Stammering Association (Self Help Group) Ummid Day Care Center for elderly people an initiative of Social Welfare department, Govt of Goa covering more than 14 agencies within the span of 9 days

National Conference on Emerging Legal Issues 2017

A National Conference on Emerging Legal Issues 2017 was organized jointly by Parul Institute of Law and Parul Institute Social.
