About Aircraft Maintenance Engineering

The aviation industry has been playing a highly significant role in fasttracking the scope of globalisation by providing effective convinience systems for the world at large and the highly skilled human resources in this field have been playing a pivotal in making this possible. As a way of supplying the much needed manpower or human resources required in this field, the Faculty of Engineering offers a four years bachelors degree program in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. The program has been designed in such a manner which seeks to address the need for effective man power in maintaining, reparing and servicing aircrafts. The experts who are trained in this field get to perform effective roles such as troubleshooting and diagnosing the problem, conduct inspections and make upgrades to aircrafts. The faculty seeks to provide the students with the much needed practical training which allows to be effective in this field and in their line of work so as to ensure that such aircracts are in an air-worthy condition which ensures the safety and wellbeing of every passenger. The department is equipped with 6 instructional & research laboratories which provide a worth while practical exposure in the areas of Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Aircraft Structure & Avionics. With the department’s inclination towards hands on training, the faculties are equipped with the most cutting edge technology and learning equipment  such as Subsonic Wind Tunnels, Aircraft Simulators and Mig-25 Jet Engine amongst others. Through this program, the aircraft engineers will get to learn to identify the problems and replace the problem by following the instructions in Aircraft Manuals and effectively applying their skillsets to produce the desired results. Upon pursuing this program, students are guaranteed to develop an apt understanding of aeronautics, essential for them to navigate the endless pool of career prospects in Aricraft Maintenance.
