The Bharatnatyam guru Ms Reema Shrikant visits the PU campus for an exclusive Putalks session

Creating lifelong impressions in every student’s journey continues to be the aim of PU, and what better way to create these moments than through inspirational interactions with some of the country’s most iconic figures. Recently the faculty of performing arts organized an event known as “Shree Krishna Sharnam Mamah” in an effort to cultivate a spirit of creativity and culture within the students. The campus was decorated in cheers of joy and gladness on the occasion of the semi recital on the life of Lord Krishna, the event was blessed by the presence of Reema Shrikant. A PUtalks session was organized with the renowned guest who carries the title of senior dancer and Guru in Bharatnatyam. She has been the recipient of Gujarat Gaurav Puraskar for Classical Dance and Kalashree Award from The Kerala Sangeet Natak Academy. She is the founder director of Ellora Centre for Performing Arts and has trained over thousands of students.

The evening was coupled with a series of performances from the students aswell as a renowned folk dance group, Spandan Kalavrund. During PUtalks, Ms. Reema spoke about her dancing career and she brought everything about Bharatnatyam into the student’s reality.  A platform to interact with the guest was opened for the students where they asked questions and gained wisdom from her decades of experience. “ in the present age where the youth has lost interest in their heritage it brings me much joy and pride to witness so much zeal to treasure one of the oldest classical dances of India from PU’s students”.
