Laboratories

Electronics & Communication Department at Parul University has always put a high emphasis on Practical knowledge gained by the engineering students. Curriculum is well defined keeping in mind the importance of Laboratories in learning process. The function of the engineering profession is to manipulate materials, energy and information, thereby creating benefit for mankind. To do this successfully, engineers must have a knowledge of nature that goes beyond the mere theory —the knowledge that is traditionally gained in laboratories.

The department has state-of-the-art laboratories, imparting practical exposure to theoretical learning such as Microwave Engineering Lab laboratory which is equipped with all necessary equipment’s such as Microwave Test Bench (Gunn Based), Wave & Propagation Trainer, CRO– ICA Laboratory in which equipment’s available are Op-amp based Trainer Kits, CRO, Function Generator – Digital Electronics Laboratory include all Digital Trainer Kits like Digital Multiplexer, Digital IC trainer, Ripple Counter, Digital Gate Trainer – Control theory Laboratory have Equipment’s like Test Signal generator, CRO, Function generator – Audio Video System Laboratory enables students to study various concepts of television like conventional PAL, NTSC system. It also helps to understand the raster patterns and its calculation. The Audio Video lab is to provide students with the necessary resources to study Audio Video System Engineering. They also provide students with experience using specialized equipment which they will encounter in industry – Digital Communication Laboratory focuses on training the students in Analog and Digital transmission/reception of signals. Students learn by constructing the circuits of Amplitude Modulation, Frequency Modulation and Phase Modulation. The other important area of analog signal processing is the Phase Locked Loop (PLL). Students also conduct experiment to find the capture and lock ranges with the designed specifications. PAM and PWM experiments are also learnt in the area of pulse techniques.
