Mechanical Department at Parul University has always put a high emphasis on Practical knowledge gained by the engineering students. The function of the engineering profession is to manipulate materials, energy and information, thereby creating benefit for mankind. To do this successfully, engineers must have a knowledge of nature that goes beyond mere theory —the knowledge that is traditionally gained in laboratories.
The department has state-of-the-art laboratories, imparting practical exposure to theoretical learning such as Metrology & Instrumentation laboratory which is equipped with all necessary equipments such as Profile Projector, Tool Maker Microscope – Fluid Mechanics Laboratory in which equipments available are Pelton Wheel and Francis Turbine Test rigs, Centrifugal Pump Test rig – Non Conventional Energy System Laboratory include those equipments that allows students to perform experimental analysis related to Solar Energy i.e. Solar photovoltaic training & research kit, Wind Mill, Insight Solar Thermal Training kit – Kinematics and Dynamics of Machine Laboratory have Equipments like Dynamic Balancing Machine, Balancing of Reciprocating Masses – Heat and Mass Transfer Laboratory enables students to study principles of heat conduction, convection, and radiation. It includes a shell and tubes and a plate heat exchanger, Stefan Boltzman Apparatus – Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Laboratory has advanced 3D modeling software like Creo, Solid Edge, Unigraphics, AutoCad, and Inventor. Analysis software includes Ansys with CFX Fluent and HTRI. Manufacturing facilities have 6 Axis Articulated Robot, CNC Trainer Lathe with Simulation – Automobile Engineering Laboratory have got Two Stroke Petrol and Four Stroke Diesel Engine Test Rigs, Computerized Single Cylinder 4 Stroke VCR Engine – Control Engineering Laboratory includes Pneumatic and Hydraulic Training Kit from FESTO along with simulation softwares.
