The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Parul University was established in the year 2003 offering undergraduate and graduate programs in Mechanical Engineering. In accordance with the predetermined goals of the Institute and the department, it had been our endeavor to impart quality education with a difference. The department has been accredited by NAAC, NBA and approved by AICTE.
The department has more than 100 highly qualified and experienced faculties, mostly from IITs and NITs. Department of Mechanical Engineering traversed the path of knowledge dissemination and generation as well as delivering over 1000 Mechanical Engineering Graduates to the Nation’s Growth. Over these 12 years, it has started carving a niche for itself in the key areas of teaching, research, consultancy, administration and community services. Department has regularly being benefited by the linkages with the International Universities, by having Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the leading foreign Universities and also with Industrial counterparts. Department has got funding from AICTE under MODROB for the Development of Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory which is useful for conducting Research in Mechanical Engineering field. The department has an Academic Review Committee to keep abreast of latest developments and incorporate the same in the course structure. One of the Departmental Student project “Manual Paddy Transplanter” is highly appreciated and awarded by National Innovation Foundation (NIF) – SRISTI-UNICEF, Episodic Winner of ‘Power of Shunya National Competition Season2’. Mechanical Department runs successfully Students Chapters like Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) under the banner of which multiple activities are conducted for the mechanical engineering students. The Department of Mechanical Engineering prioritize the necessary revamping of Mechanical Engineering Education, which is driven primarily by dynamics of technological advances and sustainable development and with active involvement of industry, alumni, research organizations and other stakeholders.
