Parul Institute of Ayurved was established on 16th September 2006 by Parul Arogya Seva Mandal which was approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi and it was affiliated with Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar. Now 2015 onwards, it is constituent part of Parul University, Limda, Vadodara. The Institute was started with intake capacity of 50 BAMS students initially, now institute possesses intake capacity of 100 BAMS seat with 60 MD/MS seats having 10 PG programs with the intake capacity of 6 in each specialty. The institute was established with following aims and objectives:
- To promote the education of Ayurved.
- To produce Graduates and Post-Graduates in all Branches of Ayurveda.
- To conduct Research on various aspects of Ayurveda
- To provide Medical Care through Ayurvedic Systems of Medicine to the community suffering from various illnesses
With these Objectives Parul Institute of Ayurved is looking forward to achieve the highest rank and set a unique benchmark in teaching methodologies of Ayurved and to set up a platform for PG and Ph.D. Scholars in various research areas. The Institute has well developed and well equipped 14 departments with proper infrastructure as per the directions of CCIM, New Delhi. Parul Ayurved hospital is also well equipped infrastructure with 270 beds and all required amenities.
The UG Course of Ayurvedacharya (BAMS) is of 5½ Year duration divided into 4 Professional Courses of 1 Year each for first three course and 1½ year for last professional course and 1 Year Internship. The present Annual Admission Capacity is 100.
The PG Course of MD/MS(Ay.) is of 3 Years duration and is available in 13 Specialties, viz. Dravya Guna, Kayachikitsa, Kaumar Bhritya, Maulik Siddhanta, Prasuti Stri Roga, Roga & Vikrit Vigyan, Rasa Shastra, Sharir Rachana, Sharir Kriya, Shalya Tantra-Samanya, Shlya Tantra-Kshara Evum Anushastra Karma, Shalakya Tantra-Shiro Nasa Karna Avum Kantha Roga and Panchakarma. The Annual Admission Capacity approved is 78.
The Institute has 270 bedded hospital with casualty unit. There is a well equipped Panchakarma Unit, Operation theatre, Labor room and Child care unit. Panchakarma unit deals with management of neurological disorder along with arthropathies and all required procedures required according to the disease. Operations theatre has facilities required for all para surgical procedures like Ksharakarama, Agnikarma, Shastrakarama, Vranopachara, Siravedha and Jalaukavacharana. Hospital also provides knowledge about lifestyle modifications to the indoor and outdoor patients through the Swasthavritta OPD regarding diet and required Yoga treatment. The Central Laboratory has facilities for various investigations like Hematological Tests, Urine Tests, Biochemical Tests, Serological Tests, Sonography, X-Ray, ECG, Spirometry and CT scanning etc.
The institute also organizes medical camps in nearby areas at regular intervals. During this camps consultation and medicines are given free of cost.
