The Department of Biomedical Engineering was established in 2015 with the intake of 60 students. The college is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University which offers Diploma in Biomedical Engineering. This is a three years (six semesters) diploma course. Biomedical Engineering is based on the fundamentals of Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology.
The Biomedical Engineering Department creates a fusion of engineering and the life sciences which promotes the scientific and technological discovery and therapies through the research and education. It includes advanced basic sciences, powered by a unique set of engineering concepts and principles.
Biomedical Engineering improves the quality of healthcare, medicine and human life. This stream comprises designing and improving the medical devices for efficient diagnosis and treatment of health ailments. Hence, we provide a professional Diploma& Degree course in Biomedical Engineering to fulfill the need of society.
We are endowed with faculties who are dedicated and qualified teachers and distinguished researchers in all modern areas of Biomedical Engineering.
The first year will be common for all engineering disciplines and students will be studying basic subjects in both sciences and engineering such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Electronic Component & Practice, Environment Conservation, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology and Hazardous Management along with the practical subjects such as Basic Computer, Information technology, and Fundamental of Digital Electronics which enhance the technical concept of the students with an innovative and creative approach.
From second year onwards, specialized courses will be taughtwhich includes Medical Electronics, Medical Sensors Measurement Techniques, Data Communication and Networking and other subjectsof Biomedical Engineering.
The Biomedical Engineers are employed in industries, Hospitals, Medical Institutes/Clinics for routine work, maintenance, testing, analysis, calibration, preventive maintenance, design and development of devices and technologies etc.
