European Commission grants funds worth 58 Lacs to foster cooperation & mobility program in fields of higher education with Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland
Parul University has received a grant of Rs 58 Lakhs from the European Commission under the Erasmus Plus programme [2014-2020]. Erasmus + programme provides grants for a wide range of actions and activities in the field of education, training, youth and sports. The programme gives opportunities to students & staff to spend a period abroad at a college/university in a country other than their home country to increase their skills and employability. The seven year programme will have a budget of €14.7 billion providing opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad. Erasmus+ will support transnational partnerships among Education, Training, and Youth institutions and organizations to foster cooperation and bridge the worlds of Education.
Parul University, India & Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland will work in a transitional partnership sharing innovative practices in the fields of education. Under this program, students pursuing Bachelor and master courses will spend 5 months at the partner university while students in Doctorate programs will be spending 10 months at the partner university. In both the cases, the entire expense incurred will be borne by European Commission. A group of 10 students (6 student from Bachelor Courses, 3 students from Master Courses & 1 student from Doctorate Studies) and 3 faculties would be going from PU to WrUT, Poland while 2 students from Doctorate Studies & 4 faculties would be visiting PU from WrUT, Poland in 2016 under the Erasmus + programme. Very few Universities in India have been funded from the Erasmus Programme. PU has previously also been funded by DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service for fostering student & faculty exchange programs with University of Applied Sciences, Bielefeld Germany.
